T-Mobile Holding a Private Party on the 21st

What is T-Mobile up to?

What is T-Mobile up to?

Pink is sending around a little email inviting all their best friends to a private party. I’m thinking it’s one of, or both, items of interest to us. Engadget thinks it’s the Magic +/or Cupcake, which I’m leaning towards. It could also be the unveiling of the Wing 2 as predicted (which would be a pleasant surprise). Chances are it’s more likely going to be Cupcake accompanied by a glowing Magic all dressed in white.

The Next Wing and Dash are Rumored for July

rhodium-and-snap

In case you were wondering about when the next magical device is coming to T-Mobile many rumors are saying Dash 2 for July 1st and July 22nd for the Wing 2. Both phones are Windows Mobile with the Dash2  being Standard (non-touchscreen) and the Wing 2 having a touchscreen.

The Dash 2 will be extremely similar to the Snap pictured above with some branding changes.

New YouTube app for Windows Mobile

youtubewinmomain youtubewinmoplayer

back_right points out that YouTube has released a new app for Windows Mobile that allows you to access YouTube videos. While no app is perfect, many people are finding that it fits the bill. It works over EDGE and Wi-Fi. A few quirks are that the landscape only rotates counter clockwise and that you can’t login to your account. However! You can still access many of your favorite videos like the G1 Unboxing. How quaint.

You can download the new YouTube app for Windows Mobile (Shadow, Wing, Dash) from m.YouTube.com on your phone. If you want more options check out our tutorial which also lets you watch videos from other sites and vTap.

Breaking T-Mobile News

Our friends over at CellPhoneSignal are reporting several new announcements that many of you will find pleasing. I know I’m getting excited. First up is T-Mobile is going to announce a Month to Month @Home service so you won’t need to sign your life away in a 2 year contract.

Second up, and this one is where the meat-n-taters are, is the Wing 2/II and G2 are rumored for a Q3 release this year! The Wing 2/II will sport 3G (like the G1) and UMA (like the UMA Shadow). It is a high end phone after all. The G2 seems to be a different hardware configuration than the current G1, meaning it doesn’t have a keyboard. Of course not having a keyboard means that the Cupcake release should be out by then as it contains the on-screen keyboard many of you have been waiting for.

As for the picture above, I sure hope that is a joystick and not a gimmicky trackball. Who’s with me?!
