Video: Preview of Cupcake in Action

This 10 minute video shows a preview of Android 1.5 (aka Cupcake) in action. What you need to know from the video is that the On-Screen keyboard is present as well as video recording and the ability to upload videos directly to Youtube. If you don’t want to wait for the final release to update OTA you might be able to get it ahead of time if you have a Rooted or Dev G1. If you don’t know if you do have a Rooted or Dev G1, then you don’t.

Some of the apps in the Android Market ask for Root Access on the G1. How do you get it? There are also custom ROMs for Android that require root access first. Many believe these to be worth it. Especially if you want to install some of the sick themes hanging out in the wiki. TO see many of the features in the newer custom ROMs give OctoberRiot’s post on ‘JF Updates Defined for the Average Reader’ a read.
If you just want to get to the root of the issue…check out the page in the wiki. Be warned, only you are responsible for messing up your phone. So if you don’t understand what’s going on in the tutorial it is advisable that you gather more information. You could also give the original thread a read first to see what other questions the community has had.
