Thanks to the AllShadow Community! If it wasn’t for the Contributors in the Forum this post wouldn’t be possible!
For new Shadow owners, or those that don’t want to mess with the registry, this file will provide some basic performance enhancements. After installation you will notice that your Shadow is running more to your liking. Be sure to check back now and then as updates will happen.
Enhancements/Changes this file makes to the Shadow are:
Application Unlock – enables certain programs to fully operate (i.e. Google Maps ‘My Location’ feature)
SMS Sent Notification turned off – gets rid of that annoying Message Sent notification you get when sending texts
Disabled Neo Interface Windows Media Player (WMP) – this does not remove WMP from your phone or make it unusable, it only turns off the ‘pane’ in the Neo interface. This specific pane uses a lot of memory and slows your phone down. You can still use Windows Media Player from the Start menu
Slimmer Scrollbars – slimmer scroll bars means more screen Real Estate
Go to Start > File Explorer > and navigate to where you downloaded the file and run it (highlight and press center select)
After Installation turn your phone off, remove the battery for 30 seconds (to be sure) then turn the Shadow back on.
AllShadow Community Veterans: If you feel there is something I should add to this that most people will enjoy please post in the comments (a link to the forum post describing the addition would suffice as well).
Here’s the file in case you didn’t see it up above:
From the forums, ShadowMike shows off some skills with a simplified installer for the Neo theme he has been working on. If you want to get in on the action check out the thread on FullScreen Neo Theme Release. He even threw in some iPhone themes. From his description:
“This is going to be released in 2 different versions. 1 Version for those that want to quickly install this and the 2nd version will be for those who want to continue working on this theme and edit the images to their liking. all images will be grouped for easier editing.”
There are other backgrounds available and with some editing you can easily change your own backgrounds.
A big THANKS to ShadowMike for this cool addition.
T-Mobile worked with Microsoft on this new Windows Mobile homescreen interface dubbed ‘Neo’. The results are a friendlier more efficient interface and it is definitely worth checking out. Watch the video for more…
I have had a chance to use the T-Mobile Shadow for a few days now and I would like to report on my findings.
Overall it has a solid smooth feel when in hand. The Screen is slick and although you can get some fingerprints on it quickly they do not inhibit viewing the screen at all. The screen is vibrant and bright and works well with the device.
The sliding action is great. It is smooth and silent, almost like a well oiled folding blade. It doesn’t accidentally slide open either. There are settings to allow the opening/closing of the keyboard to answer/end a call. By default it is set to answer when opened and no effect when closed. More >
