For those of you having trouble with the Touch Input keyboard pay attention. There is a new version posted that will solve the problem with the Touch Input after upgrading to Android 1.6. Jeem22 originally posted the link to the HTC_IME.apk file.

If you are tired of the keyboard on the left and want something a little more useable like the keyboard on the right then keep reading.

Note: If you have Astro installed you could do all this from your Android device without the need of a computer or AppInstaller.

Search the Android Market for ‘app install’ and More >

Eric, an Android Developer, has put together a nice video talking about some of the more requested features for Android on the G1. For G2 (aka MyTouch) fans, there’s a bonus, in the video he is demonstrating Android 1.5 on what appears to be the MyTouch (G2, HTC Magic). The features demonstrated include the haptic More >

This 10 minute video shows a preview of Android 1.5 (aka Cupcake) in action. What you need to know from the video is that the On-Screen keyboard is present as well as video recording and the ability to upload videos directly to Youtube. If you don’t want to wait for the final release to update More >

The G1 doesn’t come with an on-screen keyboard, yet. It’s in the works for an Over The Air (OTA) rollout in Q1 of 2009, which isn’t too far off. Watch the video above for a preview. It appears to be a simple yet functional keyboard. I’m hoping there will be a selection of layouts.
