Wait a sec! What’s the Deal with the G1v2?
May 12th
The first time we heard about the G1v2 we got a little tiny picture to look at. The second time we heard about it we got a much better picture and an even better response. But this third picture is more like the first with one major difference, this time it’s from Samsung and the code names match, at least at this point. But that’s not all! More after the jump… More >
Android 1.5 Video (Cupcake) on MyTouch (G2)
May 6th
Eric, an Android Developer, has put together a nice video talking about some of the more requested features for Android on the G1. For G2 (aka MyTouch) fans, there’s a bonus, in the video he is demonstrating Android 1.5 on what appears to be the MyTouch (G2, HTC Magic). The features demonstrated include the haptic feedback on-screen keyboard, video recorder, widgets and YouTube uploading.
Enjoy!

The Next Wing and Dash are Rumored for July
Apr 9th
In case you were wondering about when the next magical device is coming to T-Mobile many rumors are saying Dash 2 for July 1st and July 22nd for the Wing 2. Both phones are Windows Mobile with the Dash2 being Standard (non-touchscreen) and the Wing 2 having a touchscreen.
The Dash 2 will be extremely similar to the Snap pictured above with some branding changes.
FCC Passes the Touch Pro2 for T-Mobile
Apr 1st
According to the documents on the FCC website, there’s a highly speculative release date of April 24th for the HTC Rhodium (Touch Pro2, Wing 2). For many loyal T-Mobile customers and Touch screen fans this is great news knowing that T-Mobile is finally updating their Windows Mobile Professional offering. Rumors suggest that it will probably be released with Windows Mobile 6.1 with an upgrade to 6.5 available.
T-Mobile’s G2 Coming, Hello Cupcake
Mar 27th
The G2, aka HTC Magic, is making it’s rounds now sporting the T-Mobile USA logo. This is HTC’s newest answer to Nature’s call for more convergence. According to CPS and the white papers it is the first to sport both T-Mobile’s 3G and UMA. So we can have the best of both worlds! Of course it doesn’t have a physical keyboard which means it will have an on-screen keyboard. The on-screen keyboard is supposed to be a part of Cupcake (Android 2.0). The FCC docs have a confidentiality release date of June 15th, 2009 on the in-depth documents which may hint at it’s release date.

The much coveted HTC Touch Pro2 is coming to T-Mobile USA. ND4SPD got his hands on the T-Mobile Branded ROM for it and diced it up. Upcoming T-Mobile Smartphones
Mar 15th
Nothing in this post is set in stone. With that said, we’d like to introduce three possible upcoming T-Mobile Smartphones. In this batch we have One Android based device and Two Windows Mobiles. First up is the one that gets most people excited and that is the possible G2, or HTC Magic. Yes it has Vodaphone written across it but enough people in the right places have mentioned it and T-Mobile in the same breath that lends credit to it coming to T-Mobile USA. Nothing much different on this one except for it’s apparent lack of a physical keyboard. It’s supposedly coming out this month, or May, or July, or December…
Next up is the HTC Maple, otherwise known as the Dash 2. While hardware wise the Dash didn’t have much to boast about the form factor has been very successful. With less moving parts, meaning less parts to break the Dash has been a solid messaging device since it’s release. The Dash 2 on the other hand will have a serious bit more hardware. The specs on this show a 528 MHz processor and no touch screen. That’s serious business. Being a Windows Mobile device and on T-Mobile it will surely take advantage of UMA.
Finally we have the new flagship of the T-Mobile line. The Mercedes of Smartphones, the HTC Rhodium, aka Touch Pro2, aka MDA Vario V, aka Wing 2. This one is going to round up the rest of the T-Mobile kids and smack ‘em around like a Dell Tech Support Rep in a UFC free for all. Graphic imagery aside, the Rhodium saddles up to the plate with a tilt screen, full qwerty keyboard, all kinds of GPS, VGA screen, 3.15 MP camera (hopefully the front facing VGA camera will stay) and much more. It is a touch-screen and Windows Mobile Pro. Being on T-Mobile it will more than likely support UMA. This one gets me riled up like a 9 month old Yorkie with an intravenous espresso drip in a room full of cats and bacon.
