Being a Web App that makes life a bit easier I give it 4.5 Shadows
Word has been going around the forums since the beginning of an extended battery for the Shadow. Well the legend is true and I’m proud to present BoxWave’s ElectraSpan Extended Battery for the T-Mobile Shadow. While the OEM battery that comes with the Shadow has 920-1000mah of power, BoxWave’s comes packing 2200mah of juice for you to enjoy. Read on to find out the full scoop… Read Full Entry
I know many of you have been waiting to get your hands on an extended battery for the Shadow. There is one available from BoxWave. I am almost done with testing it in comparison to the OEM battery that comes with the Shadow. Look for that post later tonight. I’m sure you will find it worth it.
In the meantime, the battery is larger and comes with an larger battery cover (pics to come soon). It is also 2200mah in comparison to the 920mah OEM battery that’s a big difference. So far I can tell you the results are great. My testing might not be 100% scientific but it is aimed squarely at what most of us do, except amplified a bit.
Stay tuned.
A little while ago we posted about a great deal on a rubberized case for the T-Mobile Shadow. I ordered one as I am constantly putting my Shadow through hell and I wanted something to extend its life. I decided to post some close up pictures for everything to get a better idea of what it does.
The case does feel rubberized but isn’t entirely. It’s a rubberized coating on the outside. That isn’t bad itself. Some people had posted that it’s a little difficult to get the case off. With some careful attention to the little ‘claws’ that hold it to the Shadow you can get it off just fine.
For the price of $5.39 I think it’s a great deal. One thing I REALLY like about this case is it recesses the buttons on the front of the Shadow. How many times have you accidentally called people because of these buttons? Or accidentally answered a phone call in your pocket? Now I don’t worry about that anymore.
On the back there is a square hole, you can also get the case with a belt clip. I didn’t op for that as I don’t like the Bat-Belt look. Just preference. Apparently the deal is still going on if you want to get your own Rubberized Case.

I can’t tell you how many times I have gone on a trip, either to another state or just to the grocery store, and forgotten something. Life is busy! Sometimes we need help remembering what to bring, what to pack, what to buy. Tasks and Appointment Reminders can’t do everything. Wouldn’t it be great if there was an easy to use, simple app that could remind you to pack that swimsuit or bring a power adapter? This is where MyList comes into the picture. The next version of Windows Mobile, named 6.1 (the Shadow runs 6), was announced at CTIA by Microsoft today. The Standard version (non-touchsreen) adds such enhancements as an improved Home screen, threaded-SMS (finally!), copy and paste functionality, and a zoom function in Internet Explorer. Will the Shadow be upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.1? Probably not, according to Engadget, which makes sense. The Neo interface was a precursor to the 6.1 Standard interface, seen below, so it wouldn’t make sense for T-Mobile to offer 6.1 and replace Neo. New devices going forward, such as the Shadow II, will come with 6.1.
If you’re interesting in learning more about what Windows Mobile 6.1 has to offer, check out the thorough review at pocketnow.com.

What Was Wanted
I wanted an application that made recording audio as simple as possible while at the same time provide solid features, ease of use, and just plain worked. I took a good look at Vito Audio Record v1.32 to match my needs. Read on to see if it fits the bill. Read Full Entry

One of the great things about traveling overseas is seeing all the great sites, eating different foods and meeting new people. One of the not so great things is when you don’t speak the language. Yes, there are many phrase books out there that look really handy in the book store but once you are in country all kinds of things can go wrong like not being able to pronounce the words and so on.
What Was Wanted:
I wanted something that would make communicating in Russian easier. An Application that would help me learn, have audio examples, translation and be intuitive to use.
I have been lucky enough to be included in the closed beta of the new Skyfire Browser. Before I opened the newly installed browser on my windows mobile standard smartphone, I honestly didn’t think it would be as cool as it turns out to be. Watch the video below to learn more:
EDIT note: This video is also available on YouTube
Text messaging is great but sometimes you get a message out of context or just want an old fashioned instant messaging interface. That is where threaded text messaging comes in. Read the full article to see what I found. Read Full Entry
What Was Wanted:
I wanted an easy to use Podcast application for the T-Mobile Shadow smartphone that was simple, worked all the time and had some great features. It had to have an auto-update feature, a way to simply add podcasts, be RSS compatible, and work over the many different connections on the Shadow. The interface had to be intuitive and easy to learn but still provide full functionality. Audio wise, it needed to work through the built in speaker, the headphones and on bluetooth headphones. I checked out AudioBay from AcroDesign Technologies, to find out if it was what I was looking for keep on reading.
