Windows Mobile 6.5 on the Shadow

Windows Mobile 6.5 is coming, and not just for touchscreen devices. Although the Shadow isn’t officially updatable to Windows Mobile 6.5, that doesn’t stop a lot of you in the forums from installing a ROM with the new operating system. Thanks to zephnath, we have this awesome video giving us a walkthrough of the latest 6.5 ROM for the Shadow.

It looks like TMoNews has just gotten hold of a plethora of T-Mobile Touch Pro2 images, giving us views of the entire device and letting us finally have a good look at the design.

This is very interesting. Our friend ND4SPD has been dissecting the leaked Touch Pro2 ROM for T-Mobile, and has unearthed what looks like support for two phone lines on this device. The below comes from an .HTM help file detailing what is called “Alternate Line Support”…take a look:
Overview of Alternate Line Support
Alternate Line Support (ALS) allows you to switch between two phone lines for making and receiving calls on your device. The Line 1 is selected by default for which you can configure phone settings, such as ring type, ring tone, and more by tapping > Settings > Personal tab > Phone > Phone tab on your device. However, you can configure a ring tone while selecting either of the phone lines.

Choose alternate phone line
1. Tap > Settings > Personal tab > Phone > ALS tab.
2. Select the desired phone line, such as Line 1 or Line 2.
3. Tap the Ring tone for [Line #] list and select a ring tone for the selected phone line.
4. Tap Play icon to play back and listen to the ring tone.
5. Tap OK.

• If this service is not available on your device, please contact your wireless service provider for more information.
• To change phone settings or access ALS from the Phone screen on your device, tap Menu > Options. For more information about phone settings or how to change ring type and ring tones for your current phone line, see the related help topics.
It’d seem peculiar for the a carrier to offer the ability to carry two lines on one device, but this could be one of the ways that T-Mobile will differentiate their version of the Touch Pro2. More on this as it comes!

We have what seems to be the most likely date for a release of Cupcake. Engadget is reporting that T-Mobile Germany has published information about Cupcake on its website, citing how the update will automatically be pushed to your device. The website mentions May as the time-frame, but considering that the HTC Magic is due out on May 5, Cupcake may be out right around that time. See T-Mobile’s Germany website for more.

This is getting exciting. We have uncovered more pictures of what we suspect to be the Wing II, also known as the HTC Rhodium/Touch Pro2. This all is inline with what we’ve seen so far…the leaked USA Touch Pro2 ROM, and then we saw the Wing II pass through the FCC. The images show a keyboard with no embed European characters, which is only characteristic of a US-destined device. Hit the jump for more pictures! More >

Mike and I are building the framework for the next stage of AllShadow.com. Changes to our forum and main page are coming, which is good – because T-Mobile is about to unleash a wave of smartphones that will keep us busy: the G2, the Dash II, the Wing II, and others.
With that said, we’ve decided to expand our staff so that we can cover all of these new devices with fantastic tips, tricks, videos, and the like that you’ve come to expect from us. While writing for us is a volunteer position, you will have access to free software, accessories, and…if you’re good…free hardware. And you will need acquire the first device on your own (meaning, we won’t buy you a Wing II right off the bat).
We are looking for people who are motivated, have free time, and have fantastic writing ability. If you are interested, send a private forum message to Administrator, being sure to mention why you want to write for us, the current device that you use, and anything else interesting that we should know about you (such as whether you have a personal blog or video channel, have prior writing experience, etc). Must be 17 or older to apply.

For the last few weeks, members of the AllShadow community have been posting up their themes in hopes of winning some money in the Themes contest. Well, the contest has ended, and we have a winner: Kwills! Shown above is his Vista Memoir Concept theme. If you want to get the theme running on your Shadow, follow these steps:
Step 1.Extract this file to your pc then copy the extracted files and an paste them to your windows folder in your shadow.
Step 2. Download and install this cab
Step 3.Download and install this cab then reboot/restart your Shadow and enjoy.
