I don’t like that people describe it like a toy. I don’t like the price. I don’t like that better, sexier Android phones are coming later in the year. I HATE the G1 and my poor Shadow is about dead. I may have to get this in Sept. I want to read more reviews and see it in a store. I don’t know what to do. I wish my Shadow was in good health.
The Shadow was a laggy pos even brand new, G1 is pretty sweet just not as “sexy” as some other phones. I have a g1 am thinking about a tp2 but the us verision of the tp2 looks square and bulky not to mention crappy WM. The only reason I would get another WM phone is if I could port Android onto it.
@Jshin
The original shadow was perfect. Best non touch windows phone ever. I think you somehow got a dud. Mine is still perfect aside from the main speaker not working(it fell into a pool, fell out of a speeding car and worked great for 6 months before the speaker died)
The original Shadow was my introduction into smart phones and it led me onto the used Wing I have today which I now have Windows Mobile 6.5 installed with a 240 clock and it’s one tough little phone that has done everything I’ve asked it to do. I plan to upgrade to the Touch Pro2 and upgrade it to Windows Mobile 6.5 and in due time Windows Mobile 7 with or without T-Mobile’s consent. The Wing with Windows Mobile 6.5 is a very good experience and a very good introduction into the smart phone genre and while Windows Mobile isn’t perfect, it is not as bad as a few would have you believe it is.
i agree with bill berry, i original shadow was my first ever smartphone i owned, and it was great, thats what got me into smartphones, and i certainly can’t wait til tp2 comes out
I know for a fact that you cannot preorder this phone through customer care, you have to go to http://www.t-mobilemytouch.com
@Jshin. First off, the Shadow is not a laggy POS, mayne your is. Also the TP2 does not look square, I know because I have one (Euro version) maybe your looking at the Diamond2. Thirdly, Windows Mobile is not crappy. Sound as if your just not to knowledgeable about WM and modifying the OS/phone to your likings, which you cannot do to other phones OS. At least not like you can to Windows Mobile. My Shadow which I still have as a back up was my favorite phone ever, accept for now with the TP2 and I have had the Wing, 8525, Iphone, BB 8830, 8900, BB Storm, Prada, Touch Pro, G1, Nokia N95 and probably a few more I cant think of right now.
First off why are people talking about the shadow or any other phone–this is a thread about MyTouch/G2! I for one recommend strongly against getting this phone since a keyboard is essential for long emails and well try using the g1’s on screen keyboard only for a day or two. This phone is a joke without a keyboard its lame sauce.
I happen to know Mat is full of shit saying that you cannot ordere it through customer care. I ordered mine last week. So good luck to you
