myTouch 3g Price Revealed

$199.99 with a 2 year contract, and 299.99 with a 1 year contract. Before you start complaining how expensive it is, take in to account how much money you save by having T-Mobile over one of the other large wireless carriers. Well, that’s probably what they were thinking when they decided on the final price of the myTouch. Clearly, T-Mo isn’t trying to compete with the iPhones $99.99 price tag. Or maybe they are, but in an indirect way. Existing postpaid and FlexPay customers will be able to pre order the device, and will recieve it between July 29th, and August 3rd. You’re still gonna buy it, aren’t you?
This could be bad news for anyone hoping the Touch Pro 2 was gonna be on the cheaper side. Who knows, maybe Magenta will surprise us all! And maybe MJ isn’t really dead…
Tell us what you think in the comments.

I am so tempted. I even have my 2 year discount…that will count too right? I am so tired of my 2007 shadow with a mysteriously busted speaker. I will try to live with vibrate only alerts in hopes of a more powerful Android phone from Tmo in the next few months.
Not really liking the Touch Pro, It looks kind of clunky and very square. But hopefully it will looke better in hand at a store but i doubt it.
Good grief! Don’t you guys proof read this stuff before you post? ‘Divice’? ‘Your’ != ‘You’re’. Come on, guys. You’re supposed to be professional writers. Act like it.
I am still undecided on whether or not to get the my touch. My main concern is the lack of keyboard, but I had a first gen. iTouch and I could type relatively fast on that without error or my samsung behold as well. I guess I will have to play around with it first before I decide to give up my g1
@BurritoButt….I was just about to call them out on that as well. I wrote technical documents for a large cable company and I would have gotten my backside stomped if I posted that. No offense guys…just a little disappointed.
I will, however, be waiting for TP2 to come. Hopefully T-Mobile gets the pricing on track. I think they are a little too high still.
I’m sorry, I’m not perfect like you guys.
OMG ATT IS SO MUCH MORE THAN T-MOBILE!
even if it was the same price as the iphone, iphone>mytouch & G1.
@toebee97 – Yes but 3-400.00 for a phone seems a bit much …no? I know they take a hit on the price regardless. I’m just a little worried the TP2 is going to be really high. What happened to the good days when Motorola Brick’s cost 2k and we had to take out a second mortgage to pay the bill? We have come a long way as far as price goes in the mobile market. It just worries me to see what seems to be a step back; especially in this economy. Granted I know I have several cheaper choices. They just don’t fit my usage. I can’t see having one of those 49.00 Samsungs *gag* even though I just bought one for my daughter.
@Mark – I’m far from perfect…Just saying it’s the World Wide Web. You represent us. Make us proud. Still great information and it was not meant as a personal attack. Sorry if it came out that way. No offense. When I write something for this kind of use, I usually put it in Pages, Word or use Firefox.
Reminds me of Ricky Bobby: “But I said ‘with all due respect!’”.
Already pre-ordered mine. I have had the g1 since day one and love it. Now onto the mytouch.
