T-Mobile officialy announces Dash 3G // MyTouch next week?

The time has come for T-Mobile to start announcing their new devices. We’ll start with the Dash 3G, which is the highlight of a recent press release from T-Mobile. While T-Mobile hasn’t specified a price, Sprint is offering the same phone on June 21st for $149.99, so expect it to be somewhere around that price range.
The MyTouch 3G is also being rumored for an official announcement next week! According to a T-Mo spokesman who said; ”Next week, T-Mobile will share more details about its next Android-powered phone, the follow-on device to the T-Mobile G1 with Google.” No one is 100% positive if this is the MyTouch, but any new Android phone is good, right?

Sorry I can’t link the article, (on my Shadow 07) but Tmonews.com had a linked article from the Wall Street Journal earlier this week. It specifically said the phone in question was the MyTouch.

@John
You’re right.
From the article you’re talking about: “T-Mobile USA is expected to announce details around a new phone powered by Google’s Android operating system next week, say people familiar with the matter.” “The new Android-based phone is slated to be called myTouch 3G, those people say.”
I’m not sure who “people familiar with the matter” are, but I’m pretty sure the WSJ isn’t referring to anyone working at T-Mobile.
When I first read this article, I thought the WSJ was referring to people like us, who report on internal leaks from T-Mobile, but I don’t know.
But unofficially, you can expect the MyTouch 3G next week.

do you think the mytouch will be available for pre-order next week or to buy at the stores?

How much are we thinking full retail? I am not eligible for upgrade and am hoping that this phone is about $299. Think that will be right?

@Mark
Thanks!
@Jason
I would guess it’s the announcement, but you will probably be able to buy it within a week or so.
@SJSMR
Yeah, $299 would probably be correct for the no-contract price. But, you might be able to swing a little discount if you ask nicely!

I talked to T-Mobile a few days ago and they are confirming now July 8 for the release of the Dash 3G and August 12 for the HTC Rhodium aka T-Mobile TouchPro2. CNET’s Bonnie Cha has reviewed the Dash 3G and it is now posted at their website. Overall it received a 7.7 with it’s only drawback being it’s price, screen size and some of the characters being too pixilated as compared to the Curve 8900. She also goes on to say this phone does not have UMA, so T-Mobile’s at Home service cannot be used with it. – http://reviews.cnet.com/smartphones/t-mobile-dash-3g/4505-6452_7-33703089.html
