Touch Pro2 Looks Even Better In Hand

Just when it couldn’t get any better, it did! TMoNews got some pics from an anonymous tipster of the actual HTC Touch Pro2 with the final design/color scheme. The device looks a lot better than on the spec sheet and miles better than the “Needs Meet Solutions” promo mockup image.

Take a look at all of the images of the Touch Pro2 courtesy of TMoNews here as well as here.

Dash 3G and Touch Pro2 Official Spec-sheets leaked

Thanks to TmoNews – we’ve got the official spec sheets for the HTC Dash 3G as well as the HTC Touch Pro2 for T-Mobile. Some interesting specs that standout include:

Speaker Independent Voice Recognition -A very fancy system that allows you to ues voice commands without any training and uses fuzzy logic to figure out what you’re saying. If you understand any of the techno-babble – which I don’t – look at Fifth Gen’s explanation about it.

Battery life – 5.5 hours of talktime and 8.3 hours on standby for both devices, even though they are two completely different types of devices.

The Touch Pro2 will sport the Touch FLO 3D and hopefully will get HTC’s Sense UI later this year via upgrade. It will also have an nifty duplex speakerphone that will support HTC’s Straight Talk feature

Take a look at the enlarged spec sheets after the jump!

T-Mobile Dash 3G Takes Semi-Official Limelight

The title says it all :D . MobileBurn got their lucky hands on the T-Mobile Dash 3G that is set to release early July. They’ve been nice enough to snap up a couple of shots and even take a hands-on video. Luckily, it looks like the device has kept the soft, rubbery back that the original Dash had that many have come to know and love. I’m liking the looks of that optical trackball which seems to work just as well as those on the BB Curve. MyFaves built into the Sliding Panel homscreen as well having all of the custom HTC applications are nice touches to a quite well-rounded device. And with a 528 MHz Qualcomm processor compared to the aging 200MHz OMAP200 processor of the original (incidentally, this is the same in the T-Mobile Shadow) – the device should scream with performance. The video shows just as much, however, I’ll reserve judgement on that for when I can actually try the device out myself.

MyTouch 3G Unboxing Video

Today, T-Mobile employees everywhere are getting their hands on the new MyTouch 3G, which means unboxing videos! Also of note is what this T-Mo employee said in the “info” box of his YouTube video. He says “In the next month we will be releasing the mytouch and the HTC Touch 2 pro…”. We already heard it was coming in July, but this further confirmation should reassure us that we can get our hands on those two devices very soon.

T-Mobile employee:

“Alright, I got one of these to learn on and promote. For not being a touch-screen keboard guy, I love it.. The battery life is a solid 2-3 hrs of usage time longer than the g1. I streamed video, played music, and ran Buddymob at the same time with above average performance. The ROM is 512 MB with around 288 mb usable memory. The phone is much smoother then the g1. Loading Icons and transitions are quicker. Speake phone and ringer are slightly louder . This is a true Iphone competitior. If you own an Iphone now you will not mind the transition at all. In the next month we will be releasing the mytouch and the HTC Touch 2 pro(which I’ve had the pleasure to play with) While windows mobile is beautiful on the right hardware. This will be much easier to navigate for the mulitmedia user. With both releases in July T-mobile is going to be laying some serious pressure to its compeititors in the data device category.”

.CAB’s for Dummies (How to Install a .CAB File)

Many people who buy cell phones just get them for making phone calls, text messaging and surfing the web, few people know that they can actually make their phones act more how they want them to beyond the “Settings” screen. That’s where communities like ours come in. We mod, hack, theme and edit our phones to the breaking point. We squeeze every ounce of functionality out of our devices, and tweak them till they’re perfect (or close to it).

Everyone needs to begin somewhere though, and putting programs on your device is a good starting point. And that’s what we’re going to do now, install our first program. More >

Sense UI Coming to G1/MyTouch?

With  all the news buzzing this morning on the announcement of the HTC Hero, Coming to T-Mo UK as the G1 Touch, there was bound to be rumors flying all over. Including a debunked one about the beautiful interface coming to Windows Mobile. The most interesting though, is that BGR and Pocket-lint are reporting that HTC CEO, Peter Chou, confirmed that “HTC sense will be available on some other existing devices.” With the only other HTC Android devices out being the HTC Magic/MyTouch and the G1, Things are looking pretty good for us. I must say this would be a wonderful thing, rather than going though the painful modding and hacking to use the incredibly unstable “Rosie“. Lets just hope T-Mobile lets it happen.

Adobe Flash player 10 coming to a smartphone near you

In a recent audio press release, Adobe’s CEO,  Shantanu Narayen stated that we will be able to get Adobe Flash player 10 on our Android and Windows Mobile smartphones in October. The only way to get Flash on your smartphone right now is to install the Hero rom on your G1.

FINALLY, I’ll be able to play “Parking lot 5″ on my cellphone!
