The T-Mobile Touch Pro2 to Have Dual SIM Support?

This is very interesting. Our friend ND4SPD has been dissecting the leaked Touch Pro2 ROM for T-Mobile, and has unearthed what looks like support for two phone lines on this device. The below comes from an .HTM help file detailing what is called “Alternate Line Support”…take a look:
Overview of Alternate Line Support
Alternate Line Support (ALS) allows you to switch between two phone lines for making and receiving calls on your device. The Line 1 is selected by default for which you can configure phone settings, such as ring type, ring tone, and more by tapping > Settings > Personal tab > Phone > Phone tab on your device. However, you can configure a ring tone while selecting either of the phone lines.
________________________________________
Choose alternate phone line
1. Tap > Settings > Personal tab > Phone > ALS tab.
2. Select the desired phone line, such as Line 1 or Line 2.
3. Tap the Ring tone for [Line #] list and select a ring tone for the selected phone line.
4. Tap Play icon to play back and listen to the ring tone.
5. Tap OK.
Notes
• If this service is not available on your device, please contact your wireless service provider for more information.
• To change phone settings or access ALS from the Phone screen on your device, tap Menu > Options. For more information about phone settings or how to change ring type and ring tones for your current phone line, see the related help topics.
It’d seem peculiar for the a carrier to offer the ability to carry two lines on one device, but this could be one of the ways that T-Mobile will differentiate their version of the Touch Pro2. More on this as it comes!

If this is true then that’ll mean that someone is going to pick up T-Mobile’s 3G speeds or this phone will be equipped with CDMA bands or with another Carrier’s GSM bands
sounds weird but would make sense in that they’ll get more sales.
Or maybe t-mobile may have a new tech coming out or new system that’ll take use of their 2nd sim card.
Maybe one sim card will be strictly data and the other voice??? That could be a possibility that would put T-Mobile ahead.

Just one more way the Touch Pro 2 demonstrates it is aimed a professionals who need a true mobile computing solution and not kids that want something cool.

Even if its dual sim its still gonna be locked. Its probably for business users who use T-mobile’s European service when traveling.

or business users who might have their service paid through their company bit also want to use the ssme phone for personal use. this would allow them to insert the sim from their work number and info and the sim for their home number and info. I could truly are using that since my company does such a thing.

@deyanimay you can ask tmobile for an unlock code and they give it to you after 24 hrs. I do it all the time when I am traveling.
depending on how much you can customize this phone I am really considering getting it.
