Shadow 2009 Early Adopters: Are You Happy?
It has been about a month since the Shadow 2009 came out, and a good amount of you have already bought one. Those of you that have, help out your fellow AllShadow.com members with this poll. Also, step in and make a comment: do you advise people to jump to the new Shadow? Or should they wait for the next best thing from T-Mobile?

I didn’t buy one but I have the first one and I looked at the shadow 2009 at the t-mo store and I wasn’t impressed the menu and winmo 6.1 are the only difference and it got huge as far as the thickness is concerned compared to the first one so if you have the first one keep it. 2009 isn’t really worth it unless the price comes down and I agree with james the g1 is the way to go anything not touch screen just seems way out dated I bought a g1 and I really like it and its getting better but if you didn’t have the honor of owning a shadow 2007 but you liked it then you might want to check out the 2009 I like the shadow but it just seems outdated like I said before and with winmo 6.5 coming out its really going to seem old

The 6.1 winmo is good as is the threaded messaging but will be returning this and downgrading back to my old shadow

I have the original shadow and its been good for me. I really like it but now that its time for a new phone I went with the G1. There weren’t enough differences or improvements from the 2007 shadow that made me want the 2009 shadow more so I chose the G1 instead.

im the only one that has come forward and say that this is the best device out there. i dont care if its not touch screen because the wow factor is not there but the meer fact that t mobile and htc made the shadow (a beloved phone or there will be no allshadow.com) better. the bigger processor is the big thing for me because it made everything run smoother. i have the nintendo emulator from the old shadow and placed it on the new shadow and man it plays better. alot of the application work 100% better. and for people going goo goo over the touch screens; no disrepect but all the things that you can do i can do better and faster. skyfire cant be downloaded to your favorite touch device. so in closing support the phone that this site is dedicated to. im very happy and will not change for nothing.

is it just me, or does the new shadow not hold a signal as well as the old one? i love the threaded messaging and some of the added aesthetics, but being the nitpicky type, i’m going to gripe:
1. where it has the power management on the home screen, it no longer shows the percentage… mep
2. they moved some stuff around in the start menu. some moves were great, others should have been made/left
3. the new case makes sense, because of where the charger plug is now, but it’s super scary taking the phone out sometimes… i’ve had to do some acrobatics to save my junk several times
4. (this is how nitpicky i’m going to get… get ready to ream me for this) the packaging sucks. i received my phone in a barely functional box, as it looked like it was involved in an england-ireland friendly. it held on long enough to bring me my phone, then it fell apart upon opening. what happened to that pimp box that the old shadow came in? i use that to hold…. stuff…
aside from these things, i really love it. i’m hoping the signal thing is just this one phone. i won’t go g1, because i’m curious as to whether opera is going to be unlocked by one of these geniuses on this site, and what will be released to use the accelerometer.

to gabriel I would say that if you don’t like the home screen and some minor stuff on there besides the box I would suggest that you look at doing some themes on your phone so it can fit you look. I have friends who want my phone after I tricked it out. I hope allshadow.com will hey is some more themes for the shadow 2 or just throw the knight rider game on the nes emulator and ill be ok.
