Taking a look at T-Mobile’s product page for the HTC HD2 shows some promising enhancements that are sure to ‘redefine what you think a phone can be.’ A few of the outstanding features of the HD2 is the large multitouch screen (4.3”) and a 1ghz processor. That’s a small netbook…large phone! What’s even better More >

Gasp! Wha? Yup, the new rumour on the streets is that T-Mobile is the next contender in the Space Race and will surpass all other current 4G efforts State Side with their new roll out. Currently those speeds are being thrown around Philadelphia in a testing stage. Supposedly this coverage will coincide with the current More >

BGR has a nice little hands on video with the CLIQ that demonstrates some of the blurry BLUR action. The BLUR interface seems nice but now I’m thinking it’d be nice to have that as an app available to all Android phones, and Windows Mobile phones. Looking at the keyboard more closely it appears to More >

Oprah is celebrating the 24th anniversary of her show by sponsoring the myTouch 3G. Enter the code KICKOFF24 when checking out and the price will be reduced to $99! The fine print says a new 2 year agreement is required so those of you waiting for the moment, this may be it. Or you could More >

The CLIQ is Motorola’s bid on the Android OS. TO spice it up even more they added in their own user interface called BLUR which connects to all of your Social Networking claims, links friend’s information together and displays it all in one place. For example, if Brandon’s twitter page says he’s excited about the More >

everytime i get an upgrade, i get burned. i hope the G1 will continue to get software updates that make it pretty much equal to the G2. I doubt the wing 2 will have android OR flash so its no big deal. but still, kinda sucks lol.

I think my original shadow will be replaced with a G2.
What’s everyone’s best guess on price? I’m thinking $250 w/contract initially, then back off to $199 w/contract.

i rather get the memoir over this, if thats gonna be the g2, then thats a ugly phone, it seems like it got uglier, whats with the buttons and that huge chin is still there, i was expecting a better looking design for the g2 than this crap, wow………..not wasting money on that thing

Hey I know this is totally off topic but I have a small question. On vTap, I watch videos all the time but I always have to choose Low Quality because if I choose the other options, it would always buffer. BTW this is not on a Wi-Fi network although it works perfectly. If anybody could help me that would be great.
Blaq, getting burned is mostly perception. These two phones aren’t close to being out yet. The spy shots of the G2 are just that. The UMA Shadow changed it’s looks since its spy shots.
The Wing 2 won’t have Android but will have Windows Mobile Professional 6.5 at the least. It ‘might’ have flash support ‘officially’ by then. If not we can throw it in there.
John, I’m thinking you’re spot on about the price for the G2, but the Wing, historically, will be the flagship of the Windows Mobile line.
derrick, I agree about the chin. What’s up with the chin?
Shadowfan, if you are using vTap over EDGE/GPRS you will have to choose low quality to have immediate play. But for higher quality I would go with med or high quality and just let it buffer. MQ or HQ require more data, EDGE/GPRS isn’t the fastest data protocol so it will have to buffer.

To answer everyone’s question about the chin, I believe it is designed so you can lay the phone face down and not activate the trackball.
As for the phone being way off, check out engadget.com. (sorry, no link) they have promo photos of the phone from Vodaphone in Europe. It’s much nicer than the photo fro Mr. Blurrycam. You can see the chin is much less pronounced. Oh, and Vodaphone is calling it the HTC Magic.

Q3? I want to upgrade now!

thanks mike. when do you think the G1 will get flash? And why the heck is the resolution so nice when running youtube through a wifi connection. its like HD compared to running it on straight 3G.

Hey thanks for the info Mike! I know it was really off topic and I really appreciate you helping me!

whats the wing2 gonna look like! I hope its maybe the diamond2! I cant wait for the new wing. Forget Android, its a new OS still a baby. I want an OS thats been around and has everything i need!

Blaq,
I don’t know about Flash on Android. However, the video quality is higher over Wi-Fi probably because the connection is faster hence more data can get through faster so you will have higher quality video. Think about connections like cars and money. The more money you have (faster connection) the better a car you can get (more data).

The Wing 2 will likely be based on the HTC Tungsten codename which is similar to the HTC Touch Pro2 that was announced yesterday. Whether it will be released with Windows Mobile 6.5 is unsure (though likely), but 6.5 does fully support Flash in the web browser out of the box.

Adam, you beat me to it!
There seems to be a lot of similarities between the Touch Pro2 and the Tungsten, except for the color of the keyboard, which indicates a successor to the blue T-Mo Wing.
I don’t know…

I am glad I got the g1 I like the physical keybord but g2 lookes kind of cool but I don’t get why so soon after the g1 but hopefully the g1 isn’t forgotten about.

I think the g2 will weed out the riff raff that bought the first phone because a lot of people bought the phone because it had a touch screen and didn’t really research it first and yeah a lot of diseptive info has been released about certain updates but I knew the phone didn’t have video recording and I didn’t care but resarch these things before you spend hundreds of dollars but the phone is improving all the time and so are the apps in the market I love this phone I don’t know about anyone else though. Just be patiant and if you didn’t take the plunge with the g1 then the g2 software wise probably will have all the fixes people have been wating for.

perhaps they should work on fixing the G1 first before working on a G2. i have never been so disappointed with a phone.

For the past couple of months we’ve known that T-Mobile and HTC were to release G2 possibly as early as this summer, but realistically this autumn/winter. When it was reported/leaked and all of HTC’s future phones were released we knew that the Sapphire is likely to be G2, Maple (Excalibur) is likely to be the Dash 2. Like a few comments its always when do you jump in and upgrade or go out there and buy an unlocked HTC phone. The catch with that is T-Mobile’s 3G network and whether those phones are compatible. For those of us who play with our Shadow 2007s, how much of an upgrade is the Shadow 2009? Shadow 2007 with Skype or Shadow 2009 with HotSpot? All that said, an update for the Wing is long overdue, but what scares me to death is what the price is likely to be given what the Wing is running on T-Mobile’s website. What I don’t understand are all the HTC smart phones out there and T-Mobile not bringing some of it’s overseas cousins to T-Mobile USA. I’m sure a few of us know about the link, but this is WMExpert on HTC leaked and upcoming phones: http://www.wmexperts.com/htcs-entire-2009-lineup-leaked

For once, I am glad I didn’t wait to get the next generation of a phone. I love my G1 and the way it looks. The G2, I think, looks kind of ugly. I mean the huge joystick, or at least I hope it’s a joystick, the one button over to the left, and the oval shape, I just don’t like it. Who’s with me? Lol.

Plus the no qwerty! I hate the G2!
