How to Keep Your Shadow’s Data Bill Under Control

Data plans can get expensive especially if you’re hit with overages. T-Mobile has a few data plans that you can use on the Shadow. But how do you know what data plan is right for you? Is 100MB enough? 50MB? Do you need unlimited? And, once you get a data plan, how do you keep a close eye on your internet usage so that you pace yourself during the month and don’t go over? The answer is Spb Wireless Monitor.

Spb Wireless Monitor gives you a ton of visibility into how much data you’re using and which programs are using data. It also lets you set up warnings if you’re starting to use too much. There is a reporting function so that you can dissect your data usage each month and learn about your usage to help determine exactly how much data you need in a plan. Spb Wirelss Monitor costs $19.95 (a trial is available), which could pay for itself if you avoid paying overages. If you want a review of Wireless Monitor, check it out on pocketnow.com – which shows the touchscreen version, which is pretty much identical to the non-touchscreen version for the Shadow.

“The T-Mobile Total Internet Add On Feature gives you unlimited Internet access and unlimited T-Mobile HotSpot access. Use T-Mobile Internet to access your e-mail and browse the Internet no matter where you are.”
now.. i always thought this plan was unlimited data? and that there was only this and the $5.99 t-zones deal? am i not seeing something? 100MB, 50MB cap?
did i miss the memo on new data plans from t-mobile? because i’d gladly pay less than the $19.99 for a capped data plan :S

its 14.95 for 50mb and 200 msgs or 19.95 for 100mb and unlimited msgs… I just switched from 14.99 unlimited messages to the 100mb plan
It looks like they just added these capped plans and it seems as if they still have the unlimited for 19.99

Actually, I’m now seeing four options, t-zones for 5.95 (wap and email) 50mb web + 200 sms for 9.95 or 100mb web for 9.95 or Total Internet Add-on for 19.95.
