To be honest, if the thing has a better processor, I’d pick it over the G1 mainly for UMA support and the VAST amount of apps available for Windows Mobile. But the current shadow is a bit slow.

i just picked up a shadow 1 a few days ago, its pretty sweet. it may be a little slow at times but its not killing me. ill probably pick up a shadow 2 in a year or two.

agree with everyone else. i’ve had my shadow since launch. i love it. the only draw back, it’s a little on the slow side. depending on how much faster the shadow ii is, i might have to trade up. i guess we’ll see.

Yup! I’m in on it too, if the processor is better, I’ll be in for trading/upgrading.

yeah I agree , I love my shadow and would have gladly upgraded to the shadow II if it was 3g and alot faster - I cant even use skyfire without it thinking ever 3 mins. Im getting the black G1 and giving my shadow to my whife ( where I can keep an eye on it) =)

The Shadow was okay, but slow speed, poor battery life, crashing, lower screen resolution, poor browser quality, no 3G, no UMA, not a full keyboard, etc. are limiting factors. While the Shadow II fixes some of these issues it doesn’t fix them all. So, I’m switching to the G1, but I can always switch back to the Shadow if the G1 marketplace doesn’t provide everything I need at launch (I’m sure it won’t). I actually expect UMA support to be added in a software update to the G1. It’s not a deal-breaker if it doesn’t add UMA, but I fully expect them to add it.

d4rkwing, you might want to check your machine. We haven’t changed anything on the layout yet. Also we’ve always had an RSS feed. Look on the right below the menu (below the big fat store button) and you will see a big crazy orange box box with two swooshes and a dot. That’s an RSS feed icon (internationally accepted). Enjoy!

I love my shadow..the shadow 11 is not blowing me away
like the G1 is..a few tweaks on the 2 is and rounded corners is not getting my hard earn money just to be loyal to the shadow..i want the best bang for my money
when th e g2 comes out..i will check it out..if there is something better for me i will change again..i am only with t-mobile for the cheap data..if someone goes way cheap..i will go too..my wife has verizon..if they come out with something that blows me away..i am gone..so much for being loyal to these clowns..

Maybe I’m weird, but I’m not really feelin’ how the Shadow II looks.

I prefer the way the buttons look on the Shadow, and 2 different colors on the front.
Guess soon I’ll be considered “old fashioned”…

The softkeys are raised, which is great — the ones on my old Shadow were to flush with the surface.

I saw this picture a couple months ago, and then I saw the shadow 2 (On your website) they looked REALLY different, and alot of people thought that these 2 pictures were fake. So it’s confirmed the shadow 2 does not look as stupid as the 1st batch of photos made it look.

Anywho, im not sure what happened with the layout. I use IE6 at work, so I can’t go diving into whatever may have changed with the machine here. Ahh well. Keep up the good work!

man im a loyal shadow fan. sorry. and obviously the shadow II loves me too cause the black and red, those are my two favorite colors! Im feelin the processor and battery comment. and we need more memory. I’d go with 600Mhz, 512ram, a slight increase on onboard, maybe 256?, and a hi-cap battery standard, and my signature lock feature. (Mike, check me out)
