$199 with a 2 year contract?? A lot of people had to do $299 on the online pre-order because we had too much time left on our original contracts. So does that mean we should cancel the pre-order and just buy it from Best Buy? T-Mobile should really be looking into why loyal customers are getting hit up an extra hundred.

scaulen - you’re right in what you did. If you go to Best Buy, it’ll been the same terms as the T-Mobile store or the preorder (but of course the preorder has a rebate that brings it down to the $179 price).

Why would you assume someone was constantly upgrading? I got my shadow as a Christmas present and opened my own T-Mobile account with it. Didn’t get a discounted phone when I signed up, just got free activation. Was hoping to get the better discount but they hit me with the length in contract even though I have no early termination fee since I had my own phone. I’m sure there are others who do this, phones as presents, off of ebay, etc. Maybe I need to go higher up on the totem pole?

The pre-order had two prices $299 (100 off) and the $179 (220 off)based upon length of contract.

I have been loyal for 20 months paying a $170.84 a month ( 20 x 170.84 = $3,416.80) to T-Mobile on my 2 year contract and they wouldn’t cut me no slack on the $179.00 price. I have to do the $299.00 they said. That’s pretty sad. It’s not I can’t afford it, it’s just the principal.

so say I want to buy the phone with out the contract how much am I looking to pay?
