Tomorrow: T-Mobile Makes the G1 Official
Big news for those of us with our eye on the HTC Dream, aka T-Mobile G1, aka the first Android handset to launch anywhere: tomorrow is the big day when we’ll find out everything about the new device from T-Mobile.

P.S. Why are we talking about the HTC Dream? We’ve decided to cover this device (in addition to the Shadow and Shadow II), as we’ve received a lot of feedback from you that along with the Shadow II, the Dream may be your next phone. Not only do we now have a Dream forum, but we’ll be offering the same sort of tips and tricks on the device in the future that we do on the Shadow. We’ll also have a review and impressions of the device as soon as we’re legally able to do so =D.
And of course, we have plenty more Shadow love to go around.

i kinda have a few predictions about the G1. it might just be like the iphone and be all “OMG ITS A GEE ONE!!!!” for like a month or so. then its importance will die off.
I don’t see that happening considering it is more about the os and not the ugly phone plus it will be coming out on other phones and other networks I can’t what for this os to come out to bad it didn’t come on the htc hd now that would be a dream phone I will be pretty disappointed if I can’t get it on a partial upgrade
strange, i didn’t see it in my local tmobile stores, we have 2 stores and i didn’t see it or anything about it in the stores. also not even on the tmobile website -_-
t-mobileg1.com
yup…http://announcement.t-mobileg1.com/
Says, the press conference starts at 10:30am. woot.
Whew! I was lucky enough to catch the live feed of the announcement. Ummm… someone needs to give them some marketing advice. There were a lot of features, functions and benefits that even there demo-video left out… The speaker should have spoke faster, and acted a little more excited about the launch. Instead it felt like a funeral was about to begin and everyone couldn’t wait for it to be over.
I can’t believe Tmobile didn’t learn from the Apple/AT&T insanity when the iPhone was released. Tmobile stores should of had a form in the stores that existing tmo customers could pre-order the G1. Then tmo could email them a confirmation of the order and it be billed to their account upon shipping/release date. The tmo website doesn’t show anywhere the G1 pre order. October 22nd can’t come soon enough. I want a pre-order confirmation now! :o)
The t-mobile website has it for 299.00 with 2 year extension … wish it was cheaper ![]()
No 3.5mm jack is almost a deal breaker. I am tired of having to use an adapter.
