So the 8gb will work on the shadow?
yea, so will 32gb…but those aren’t out yet lol
Even though manufacturers say there’s a limit, that just means that’s the highest card available that they tested, so even though the Shadow is only rated at 4gb max, the sdhc standard goes up to 32. There are already people with 8 gig cards working just fine in theirs. I remember my Motorola only having 512mb max capacity, but I put in a 1 gig card and no problems. That device and many older devices are limited to 2 gigs though.
Exactly, it’s the super special SDHC format.
I doubt the shadow will see above 8 gigs..
vdubjb, as has been said already…It will support up to 32GB. It has been foretold!
sweet got this on the way now, and sold my 4 gig to my brother, so this only cost me about 10 bucks after that!
Shadow and some other phones that support SDHC format can support as far as the SDHC format will go.
The current format as commented by Fred and Mike is in the works for reaching 32GB - soon they will be releasing 16GB…
Any phone right now that suppors SDHC is limited to the support of the card type not the capacity - so whether it’s 4GB, 8, 16, 32 - as long as its SDHC - it will work.
A new format is in the works for an even higher capacity starting with 64GB and eventually work its way up…
it’ll probably be called super duper higher capacity…
wait that already makes S.D.H.C….lol!
Haha Carlos!
What in the world am I going to do with 64GB on my phone? I can see very few instances where this will become extremely useful and one of them is HD video recording. I can’t wait for that to become more mainstream on phones.
Anyone get this and test it?
