The Shadow’s battery life could be a bit better, which makes us glad that T-Mobile is using a bigger battery for the Shadow II. What if there way that you could get better battery life in 5 minutes just by installing a CAB file?
Well, this may be the case. dom2686 from the forums has posted a registry-tweaking CAB (that came from XDA-Devs) which he claims has increased his battery life by 3 hours. Not bad. The CAB contains several registry tweaks that changes the power management of the phone. As with any registry tweak, be sure to backup your phone before installing.
Those in the thread are reporting no ill-effects from installing the CAB, and most are indeed finding their battery life to be better, some even finding there to be a “significant increase.” There are some, though, citing that they see no improvement, or even worse battery life, in which case they were able to uninstall it with the registry changes reverted. Whether this works is probably determined by what other tweaks you have made to your Shadow (overclocks, programs installed, other registry tweaks made, etc).
To download the battery-saving CAB, click here. As with any CAB file, download the file to your computer and transfer it to your phone. Then, run the CAB from the phone. Let us know if you see a difference!

Put this on my phone and before under my normal use, I would be down to about 10% battery by the end of the day when I got home…Now, under same conditions, with this, by the end of the day I’m at around 38-44% battery left!! So, definately helped in my case..I put this on my wife’s phone as well and will see if it helped her as well or not and will report back..later,

The reason you guys keep getting programming code is cuz you’re tryna download it from your phone. download it to your phone FROM YOUR COMPUTER.

Battery life is better, Hasn’t been on the charger since about 12pm eastern time (it is now 2:30pm eastern time) and I’m at 98%. Usually it would be down to 83% by that time. Something weird happen though, all my contacts were erased. Thank goodness I back up all my numbers to tmobile site and my sim card regularly. But other than that, no other weird “side effects”.

I have had it for about a week and have not noticed any difference and even wondered if it has gotten worse. Not much of a fan but have not found any ill side affects

I downloaded the file and extracted it, but once its on my phone an alert comes out and tells me I should run the application first and then open the file inside, but it doesn’t work…
Anyone experience this or know what I can do?
Thanks!

I would rather use the cab file to download to the phone. I don’t use the USB from the computer to my phone. Can it be done? Thanks. Debbie

hey guys, just one question about this app. I installed this program and it was successful but I don’t see it anywhere on the phone. Does it run automatically in the background or is there spose to be an icon for it? And does the program have an actual interface?

Debed, dl to your home computer desktop, place the cab in an e-mail as an attachment, send it to your self, open your mail on the shadow, open the attachment and the cab should load. That’s how I got it to my shadow!
Ditto on the question of - How Do You Know It Is Working?
I don’t see any type of icon anywhere, am I blind?

I downloaded this on my phone but did not see any results for a couple of days. I decided to turn off my phone and after that I saw a pretty nice increase in battery life. Mainly standby time is what saw the greatest increase.
