Changing the Shortcut Key to Any Program

Posted by Mike Benton on July 10th, 2008

If you have ever wanted to set your Shortcut Key to a different program than what is provided in the default list then keep reading. This Tip has been floating around the forums and I decided to let everyone else in on this handy secret. Keep reading for the full how-to…

First you’re going to need the shortcutKeyRebuild.exe that Paul from Modaco put together, you might need to register to download it. After downloading to your PC, sync and transfer the whole shortcutKeyRebuild.exe to your Shadow. Don’t run it from your PC.

Once you have it transferred, locate it through File Explorer and Run it. When it is complete you will see a screen similar to the image above. Next Reboot your Shadow.

Now go to Start > Settings > Shortcut Key.

Then select highlight which Key Press you want to change and press Center-Select.

You should see an updated list of all the programs in your Start menu. All you need to do is highlight the one you want and press Done. Go ahead and test it out. Enjoy!
