I found this while perusing Amazon. An 8GB card for less than $40. I can’t give an exact price because every time I refresh the page the price changes. So I ordered one, after my order was complete I went back to check the price and it went up a dollar! Maybe it changes with the number available? If anyone else orders one, let us know what your results are in the comments.

Too bad the battery in Shadow won’t allow playing of 8GB of music or video without a couple two three recharges.

Danny, did you format the card? How did you format it with what chunk sizes? There are a few optimal settings when formatting a card to make it faster. The trade off is a slower boot up time. But if you only turn the phone off and on once or twice a week it won’t matter.
Cris, if you travel a lot larger cards are a great deal as you can take more with you on your trip

I just popped the card in my shadow and it automatically formatted it.

Amazon has the 4g for $15 right now as well; I think I’d be more likely to buy the 4 than the 8 if it’s that slow…

Shahea, they are all relatively the same speed when in your Shadow. For the most part speed differences are noticeable when transferring large files from your PC.
Activesync/WMDC has always been notoriously slow when it comes to transferring files. The best way to go is to use a USB 2.0 port (new computers have these) and USB 2.0 card reader with your memory card in it. Then you will see fast transfer times.

I just got mine in the mail today. The USB reader is tiny! I usually don’t have stuff connect to my keychain but I’m considering adding this. When I plugge dthe reader and card into my Vista PC it actually recognized it as a Ready Boost device.
Meaning IT IS fast. Fast enough for the computer to use it as secondary ram to speed up your computer (for those of you with slower vista machines.)
Good stuff.
