Edit: Opera has released 9.5 for the desktop now and it looks very nice.

Opera is constantly releasing updates for Opera Mini and their full sized browser for the desktop so it pays to check in every so often and see what’s new. I got excited about the new changes to Opera 9.5 beta and the Mini version because of several things.

Opera Mini 4.1 now synchronizes your bookmarks and Speed Dial with the desktop browser. In addition to that, you can access these bookmarks from any browser on any computer in case you’re away from home. Very handy.

A few features of the new Opera Mini 4.1 are:

  • Find in Page – search for text in the page you are viewing
  • Auto-complete from history and bookmarks for the address bar
  • Download and Upload files
  • Save pages to your device for viewing later
  • Sync Bookmarks and Speed dial with link.opera.com and your desktop Opera 9.5 beta
  • Landscape Mode
  • Mouse cursor
  • Improved CSS Support
  • Improved RSS feeds

What I really like about this version of Opera Mini is the synchronizing. Opera 9.5 beta packs a lot of features and works well with Opera Mini. I can be in the middle of some work, need to go somewhere, save a bookmark and continue where I left off from Opera Mini, or vice versa.

As of this writing Opera 9.5 is still in beta and has some bugs. So making a complete switch to Opera can be a bit rocky right now. See below for the Really Long Screenshot.
