Not bad of an unsubsidized price. But seriously? We have a clearer image now. The seller’s located in Seattle, Washington, which leads me to wonder by what shady methods did they get a hold of this thing? Congrats to the buyer. I kind of like the Red and wonder what other variants will be available. If you are the buyer, give us a buzz.

From the item description it says Push To Talk, this is news to me and T-Mobile doesn’t offer that service so perhaps this is an early prototype with a non locked down version of Windows Mobile. The image also shows the phone without a network/SIM card. Perhaps the seller knows about the tracking ability of carriers for individual ’special’ devices. Stay tuned…

Not a big fan of the red either, like someone said, it looks too much like the Blast. It seems that they only changes the actual design by making it round.

I am guessing the seller is from Seattle, WA because HTC’s American HQ is located in Bellevue, WA 20 min away from Seattle and next to Microsoft in Redmond. I would bet that someone jacked that from their Office and sold it, hehehe

bull crap, all i need is the update for wm 6.1 on my shadow, 3g update, battery update, and i’ll be good without getting this new shadow 2

well……thats kinda ugly. The shadow really wasnt that good of a phone anyway and this one doesnt look any better. Just a rounded-edged shadow in a different color.

yup, im going to get the HTC Diamond rather then that….complete waste of time. Or maybe i will just keep on with my iphone and say screw them both. But this shadow 2 is just horrible. Its the exact same thing as the original shadow with a few extras. whoopty freakin doo another waste of my time

Well, I don’t know if this is real or not, but it seems to be. Heres the comparison:

Processor: Went up from from 201 MHz to 260 Mhz on the new Shadow “II”

RAM: Same, 128 MB
ROM: Same 256 MB
Resolution: Same, 240 x 320

Those are the only details the eBay user gives. But thats still a great improvement on processor. The Shadow needs that.

If the Shadow II does not have a touchscreen, I will be really mad, and also probably will not get it, unless there is better features or whatnot.

hey no offense becuase i love this site and i only use this site for my shadow needs but i think that photo is a ripp off. i think someone just changed the screen or built a diffrent version of the shadow becuase if it was truely the shadow 2 wouldent it be running windows 6.1. thats just my opinion but i would imagine it would be running it.

How exactly do you know it doesn’t have WM 6.1?

If you click on buyer, when it says “Congratulations to the buyer”, it takes you to the page of the auction. In the info section, it says WM 6.1.

And if it didn’t, it is still beta, so it doesn’t really matter.

i am gonna get either the htc diamond or htc touch pro

to the person above who said how do you know its not windows 6.1 you can tell because windows 6.1 has a entire new interface this picture shows its still using the old interface.

Um.. wats da difference besides da 260MHz Processor. The fone is actually da samething, just dat diz 1 is running on WM 6.1 N its red, N more round around da edges.. okaayyy they could have done betta den dat… if u have a shadow already den ders no need to upgrade to this 1.. its no different or less ur fav color is red!

this phone is fugly FUCKIN UGLY! lol i don’t think this is the real shadow 2 at all!! if it is or nothin i dun think im gone buy it anyway..dun get me wrong the 1st shadow is a koo ass phone.. but i’m about to snatch up the touch! i’m wantin a touch screen

Mike
June 9, 2008

im pretty sure you probably could switch from 6.1 interface and the neo interface but why would they advertise the neo interface when wm 6.1 interface is so much better. to me it looks like someone made a homemade shadow lookalike there are alot of other phones with that kind of body. however if this is actully the shadow 2 and they upgraded nothing but the processor and a worse body then its predecessor then i dont want it. i was really hoping the touch diamond was going to take the place of the shadow 2.

[...] Shadow II: What you’ve heard is true, and we’ve confirmed this with at least two highly reliable sources.  The Shadow II is a refresh of the existing Shadow, which will add Windows Mobile 6.1, UMA (for using HotSpot@Home), a faster processor (260MHz versus 201MHz), bigger battery, and redesigned design (with the same SureType keyboard).  No 3G.  We’re 90% sure on these details.  It’s likely to sell for $150-$250 with a new contract.
