Some more leakage has been thrown down the InterWebTubesNet. This time it comes from phonemag.com. The rumor states 16 phones to come to T-Mobile this August, but phonemag.com could only get names on 13 of them. Such a huge number of phones makes sense with their new network. Consider it a Homecoming dance. The biggest surprise is that not only is the Shadow II listed but the Shadow III is as well!

1. Nokia 5310

2. Nokia 5610

3. Shadow II (YAY!)

4. Nokia 2760

5. Nokia 1208

6. Nokia 6301

7. Shadow III (Really? No…really?)

8. Samsung T339

9. Samsung T229

10. Blackberry Bold

11. Blackberry KickStart

12. Motorola W450

13. Motorola Rokr E8

There has been some rumor that the HTC Touch Diamond would be the Shadow III, phonemag.com is making the same guess. Sure would be nice, but really what I would like to see is the Shadow II after all our hype J

Logically, if they release a Shadow II and III at the same time then the form factors would have some differences along with major functionality differences. Possible variations could include Touchscreen/Non-Touchscreen; sliding keyboard(s) of different styles; GPS/Non-GPS (although I believe at this point every phone should have GPS); 3MP+ cameras. Remember, until we get eyes and hands on, everything is just speculation.

What are your thoughts/guesses/fuel-for-the-fire/wishes/conclusions? For once I’d like to see a good phone with the ability to record decent Video…

Let’s remember “Shadow” is a brand and not a specific model of phone. Since the beginning T-Mobile announced that there will be several phones in the “Shadow” family.

i saw something saying that the shadow 2will be the htc touch dual this would make sence because of the 20 key slider

With what Wilferic70 said i’m assuming that this site will also support both upcoming shadows? Thats what I hope hate to have to go to differant websites for my info.

Out of all of these I’m actually tempted by both the blackberry bold and the t-mobile shadow(s). If the new shadow II or even III were the HTC Diamond I would get it in a heart beat, the problem i’m finding is that i just bought my shadow in January and would be a little hard pressed to buy a new one…cash-wise anyway.

I have been waiting for the “next” Shadow as well. Here is a release news from T-Mobile “Germany” showing two new phones:
http://www.gsmarena.com/t_mobile_mda_compact_iv_mda_vario_iv-review-252.php
There are rumors that the MDA Compact IV, which is the equivalent of HTC Diamond, will be Shadow II, while MDA Vario IV with the same form factor with a slide-out keyboard will be Shadow III. Regardless, they both look great (touch screen, GPS, new interface, etc etc). Of course, what US gets may be different from what Europe will get, but since the 3G network will be in effect around the country soon, who knows, these phones may make it here soon as well :)

what the hell?? i just upgraded to the shadow, now shadow 2 and 3 are coming? and why the hell is shadow 3 coming out the same time as shadow 2? now i’m gonna have a tough time choosing which one to get, lol

I really like the shadow form factor. The slide-out keypad gives it a nice size increase when you need it so it’s more like my old clamshell phone than a tiny candybar phone. The slider makes it easy to answer and hangup calls and to hold for using the dpad or one-hand typing.

Now if they could have these improvements:
- All the stuff from the diamond: vga screen, gps, ram, etc
- Slide-out keypad with true qwerty support. If not individual keys, then make each key a left-right rocker.
- Of course, a microsd slot.

I don’t like the side-querty sliders because I would need to use two hands to hold and the orientation change is annoying.

It’s been confirmed the Shadow II WILL support UMA! Though I have not heard much of the Shadow III.

So, from looking at phonemag.com, the htc touch diamond is selling UNLOCKED for about $700-750… and apparently it’s the iPhone, but 10 times better! I just upgraded to the Shadow in January, but am pretty sure I’ll be first in line when the Shadow II comes out. I like the functionality of the touch screen and the full internet browsing capabilities of the Diamond, but with the cost aspect, may have to settle for the II, which hopefully has the same internet browsing funcionality and a full sliding querty keypad.

Moto rckr is waste of money. Hangs a lot and is very slow that is why i broke it into pieces and posted it back to motorola p.o box address. At same price i can get good phones.
