Many times a program will need you to Application Unlock your phone (App Unlock). Most of the time the software won’t tell you this needs to happen but someone eventually figures it out. So to alleviate this problem it is best to app unlock your phone early on. Download the App Unlock cab, place it on your Shadow and run it from there. The appropriate registry entries will be made.

This doesn’t work. I put it on my phone and it says the installation was unsucessful. I would appreciate it if you got one that worked because I have been looking for a T-Mobile Shadow unlocker for a long time but have been weary of getting one from another site. This is the only site I actually trust for running uncertified apps on a $150 phone.

A ball,
You can do a soft reset, take the battery out while it is on and wait 10 seconds, put it back in and restart. If this doesnt work. go to Start, Settings, Connections, GPRS, T-mobile Data and make sure you have either wap@voicestream.com or internet2@voicestream.com listed as the access point. Also it should have “The Internet” listed and nothing in the next couple fields. Also Authentication should be none. Primary DNS 0.0.0.0 Secondary DNS the same. If this is all done and it still doesnt work. You either have a data outage which sometimes occurs even if T-mobile claims there isnt one. Have them send a technician to your tower by calling customer service. Worst case scenario, you can do a hard reset which will bring the phone back to factoy settings but it isnt that bad to restart.
I did this unlock and it didnt effect my data at all so I am not sure why it would effect this. I hope this helps.

a .cab file is the extension for all windows mobile devices. its basically the cell phone version of .exe files. app unlock allows your phone to use applications that regular factory settings wouldn’t let you use. it won’t hurt your phone if installed properly it is a great tool to have to enhance your cell phones versatility.
