T-Mobile 3G Officially Rolls Out

That’s right. New York City is now enjoying Voice and Data on T-Mobile’s new 3G network. T-Mobile plans to accommodate most metropolitan areas by year’s end with the new network. Customers with compatible phones will enjoy faster download/upload speeds and better mobile data experience. No public calendar is available yet for the roll out of the network per city but be rest assured it is a welcome change.

wwwwwwooooooooooooo hhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooo
i can’t wait
3G won’t work on Shadow will it?
No, it will not work on the Shadow. Currently the only 3G phones offered by T-Mobile are the Nokia 6263 and Samsung t819.
i asked that same thing on another post and was told it was compatible
which post Carl? so I can smack it around
new cities list cust. care said all phones are compatible
if the shadow is not what are we excited about
Agreed, The shadow, won’t work with 3G, so so no real for us to celebrate.
Besides, it’s not even released to the masses’ yet.
dumb question but does it cost more for the new network or is it just an upgraded service to drop all analog technology?
also if the shadow goes work off the network does any one know if its in the western new york buffalo new york area and if not when is it going to go live in that area?
wait so this wont work with shaadow?
then why make this topic? will the shadows get like an update?:(
Yea…T-Mobile releases a next gen network like 2 years after all the other carriers and only sells 2 phones that will work on it.
This is news how?
im excited about this and hopefully the new shadow will have the ability to work on umts signal bands. but like it was stated earlier t mobile only has 2 phones that are 3g… a samsung 819 and also a nokia 6263. but from what I know by the end of the year their will be plenty of phones to choose from that are 3g enabled. and days phones are in the line up for the new bands.
I would love to know why this is news for a website dedicated to a phone that does not support that format! in the long run, I feel ripped off and violated… I need a long shower….
^^^^ hahaha
Time to sell my Shadow before it isn’t worth anything. My typical honeymoon with a phone is about 6 months then a kick it to the curb (or Craigslist). I thought it’d be much longer with this phone (bought it November 1st, the day it was released) but not now with the 3g news.
i agree with cykle666, if it is not for the shadow then why is the news posted on this website EXCLUSIVE for the tmobile shadow??? i think the shadow will be compatable with 3g because the shadow is a great phone to work with 3g
That is odd. Back when T-Mobile was rolling out the 3G in NYC on 5/5 my shadow connected to it. Instead of having the ‘E’ for Edge, it turned to ‘G’ - I was elated. I tried to browse the web but it would not bring up any pages. The phone would flip between Edge and 3G for the following few days (May 6 - 10) but now it is back to Edge with no evidence of the G network to be seen.
Now, if the Shadow is not compatible, then why does it recognize the G network and try to connect? You’d think it would not even connect and the phone would remain on the Edge network. I’m confused… is this something T-mobile is planning to deploy via a phone update or something?
The shadow is simply too slow for a 3g connection I’m sure. what is it?? barely 200mhz-joke
