Poll: Is the Shadow II for You?
Ok, so I know that the amount of information we have on the Shadow II is scant right now, but I thought this would be an interesting poll. If you haven’t read, this is what we know so far, and this is what it is going to look like. We’re getting trickles of information about a release time frame of the Shadow II and more concrete specifications details, and as soon as we’re confident enough to report something, you’ll be the first to know.

no.. even though i got the shadow as soon as my t-mobile store had them.. i wouldn’t get it because i can’t throw another $250 away on this phone.. and yes, i know there’s another $100 rebate after that, but really people.. who sends away those rebates? :/
the shadow ii would have to have some serious, serious, advanced features for me to give up my original shadow, after all the great mods i found on this site..

I send those rebates.. and I get them too! I will probably get one but I will wait till my buddy gets a pre-release at work so I can play with it before I formulate a decision. The Shadow 2 definitely trumps the current Shadow.

I don’t like the look of the shadow II, even if it does have 3G. The more rectangular shape of the original shadow is far nicer.
HTC if your listening – made a MDA compact IV but with a slide suretype keyboard, and without a touchscreen !!!

I figured that you guys would find this interesting.

It looks a little different from the posted pic and I’m not sure if it’s the shadow replacement or not but it looks darn close.
According to those guys, it’s coming out May 6th, “It’s already known as T-Mobile’s MDA Compact IV from CeBIT 2008.” and has the following features/specs:
2.8-inch VGA screen,
528MHz Qualcomm CPU
GPS receiver
128MB of RAM
Windows Mobile 6.1 platform
4gigs internal memory
built-in accelerometer for automatic rotation of the user interface
3G with HSDPA and HSUPA support
Hope it turns out to be true.

Brian – that was the first device suspected to be the Shadow II, and it’s not. That device is literally the MDA Compact IV, and it has a touchscreen.

Oh, yeah I wasn’t sure and I didn’t remember reading up on it. Thanks for clearing that up and sorry for taking up space.

Like many, my Shadow is still under warrenty and I am very happy. Now when Shadow 3 is available …YEAH!

I really hope that the shadow II is the HTC Touch Diamond (phone that brian described). I’ve seen an image of this branded with T-Mobile and hopefully that isn’t the European T-Mobile. 528 Qualcomm, 4GB memory, HSDPA/HSUPA is a lot better than that round shadow image, which in my opinion, looks ugly.

Oh yeah, and the touch diamond has the new version of touchFLO. T-Mo, go for this instead of the other round, ugly phone!!

I’m with most of everyone here. The first image we had of the suspected Shadow II is by far my favorite and looks closest to the design we all like.
If the 2nd image is the Shadow II I have my fingers crossed for some serious improvements to make up for lack of style.

Though the Shadow II looks promising i will be holding out until the Touch Diamond and 3g network are available in my city. Until then the Shadow keeps me happy.
