Cities for the New Network

Posted by Mike Benton on April 18th, 2008

Some rumors floating around the web about which cities will get the new T-Mobile network and in what order. Folks, you gotta remember T-Mobile has been building this thing for years. They’ve been testing. I’m willing to wager that the network unveils in at least 75% of the cities below within the first week of launch.

In no obvious order:

New York City
Austin
NJ and Long Island
Las Vagas
Minneapolis
Miami
Dallas
Chicago
Houston
Philadelphia
Denver
Detroit
Orlando
Kansas city
Atlanta
Los Angeles
New England
Portland
Sacramento
San Diego
Seattle
Washington DC
San Francisco
Birmingham
Memphis
Tampa
Phoenix

what part of “no specific order” don’t y’all understand. whether you’re at the top or bottom, you’ll get the network first.

Are they testing it already? I live in Miami and last thursday night I noticed on the top status bar of my shadow, it indicated a “G” instead of the usual “E”.

first three markets are new york miami and las vegas. I work in care. We’re pushing the compatible handsets to those markets strong. On our order forms there’s a seperate section for all tie compatible handsets if your number is based out of one of those three markets. Shouldn’t affect your edge status. Your handset will still receive edge if you have and edge only compatible handset. :)

    Shadow is 3G compatible.
New York 3G Network goes live May 1st.
They are working on a new ROM update now to include WM 6.1.
I got all this info from an inside source at T-Mobile.
