I can’t tell you how many times I have gone on a trip, either to another state or just to the grocery store, and forgotten something. Life is busy! Sometimes we need help remembering what to bring, what to pack, what to buy. Tasks and Appointment Reminders can’t do everything. Wouldn’t it be great if there was an easy to use, simple app that could remind you to pack that swimsuit or bring a power adapter? This is where MyList comes into the picture. Read on to see if it helps.

What Was Wanted

I wanted a simple list program that supported several formats such as Checklists, Dated Lists, Grocery Lists and Packing Lists. I also wanted to be able to edit lists on my PC in case they were lengthy. I needed icon support so I could quickly and visually distinguish between lists. Having categories and sub items would be a plus. The ability to edit 100% of the lists on the Shadow was a must have.

SBSH presents MyList. Instantly, I had the ability to create new lists from scratch or from templates. The ability to sort, highlight, check/uncheck, assign dates, add/edit/delete items was all there. There were many icons to choose from for each list. The lists could be organized anyway I wanted. If I wanted the check box after an item I could do that. The ability to assign priority was as simple as Low, Medium, High.

Creating a new list on Windows Mobile Standard is very easy simply select New > List > Choose a Template > Insert a Name > Ok and you can start adding items.

mylist menus

The menus have enough variety and functionality to get the job done. Who needs too many options?

mylist checking

Checklists with sub-items: When you check off all the sub-items, the main item gets checked off as well. Very thoughtful and makes MyList that much simpler.

You can also export your lists in .csv format and edit them in Excel or any spreadsheet program as well as Notepad if you want to be all Zen about it. In fact, I recommend you create your longer lists on your desktop and import them into MyList as it will save you a lot of time. To get a template simply create a new list in MyList, add some items, export the list and then open the .csv file on your desktop.

Additional options in SBSH MyList include defining font size and color, assigning custom icons, background colors, and highlighting of list items.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Intuitive Interface
  • Endless lists
  • Importing/Exporting
  • Works well on the Shadow

Cons

  • No desktop list editor to sync with MyList
  • Must ‘Save’ changes to a list instead of autosaving
  • Dated items don’t have option to be added to Outlook Reminders

Conclusion

SBSH MyList is a must have for anyone that tends to forget what to bring. If you find yourself scrambling at the last minute to pack things and stress that you are forgetting something then do yourself a favor and get MyList and create some packing lists, shopping lists etc. Since I installed MyList it has saved me tons of ‘last minutes’ and worry.

SBSH MyList is available with a Free Trial or for purchase at $14.95 from our store.
