I’ve had a few requests about how to install those free mobile java games we mentioned previously. There are two basic methods, OTA and via PC. The preferred method is OTA (Over the Air) and Via PC should be second choice. Read the full article for the details
OTA (Over the Air) Method:
Point your mobile browser to www.mobilerated.com

Browse around and find the game you want to download.

Scroll down till you see Download and select that

Esmertec Java should load and then display some general information about the game you are trying to install go ahead and click Continue.

The installation will begin and then pause asking you want to continue even though the MIDlet is untrusted. Go ahead and press Yes.

Installation will proceed and then ask you for a folder where you want to install the game. Just press Ok here.

After Installation is complete it will ask if you want to launch the MIDLet. I pushed Yes.

As you can see Zelda isn’t quite formatted for the Shadow’s screen but it works never the less. You can start playing and most games allow you to assign keys to in game actions. Congratulations, you have installed a free java game.
Note: Most java games will run but might not be responsive to the Shadow’s hardware keys. Most of them are designed for mobile phones. If this happens to you, exit out to Internet Explorer and press and hold the * key and change you input method to 123. Then go back into the game. It MIGHT work then.
The Via PC Method.

On your Desktop browser go to Mobilerated.com and at the top select ‘Set Mobile’

Scroll all the way down until you see T-Mobile (near the bottom of the page) and select Shadow.
Browse around until you find the game you want to play, from the games screen scroll down till you see something similar to above. Right click on each of those and Save Target As to your desktop (do not rename them). Once they are finished downloading, sync your Shadow and transfer those files to your My Documents folder on the Shadow.
On the Shadow, open up File Explorer (Start > File Explorer) and navigate to My Documents. Select the second file and it will start installing. From here the rest is the same as the OTA method.
Enjoy!

Just curious…can you delete the jad and jar files after installation? Are they needed by the program further?

Oh dear Mike, if you’re too dumb to type and spell properly, you shouldn’t be typing and spelling.
Thanks for the confirmation Mike, I didn’t realize idiots with poor grammar could use computers!
Do us a favor, remove your fist from your ass and use both hands for typing! learn to read, it improves your spelling skills.

How do you fix the “MIDlet could not be instantiated: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError” Error?
