Some of our more active forum participants pointed out that changing the post order would not only be unconventional (and potentially annoying), but it would make referring to previous posts more difficult. For example, if a post is on page 5 and the post order is set to newest first, that post could be pushed to page 6 with every new page of posts that hits.

Nevertheless, if you still have your heart set on new posts at the top, you can change that option in your account only by going into the User Control Panel. Once inside, go to the second tab that says “Board Preferences” and then click “Edit Display Options.” Change the last option on the page, and you’ll be set. Click the above image for the screenshot.
