A Method to Create Custom Start Up Screens

camouflage240x320.gif

CyberBuddha is at it again, this time with a custom start up screen. To create your own just go to http://www.reddodo.com and pick a template. Then in the simple words of CyberBudda “rename it to “TMO_Shadow.gif”, then copy it into \windows directory”

If you want the image above simply right click and save to your computer. If you feel especially proud of your own creation you can show it off in this thread on Personalized Animated GIFs.

Hello. I have no idea what you mean when you say copy it into your /windows directory. What is that???

It means: Hit start - got to your file folder - open your “windows” folder and paste the file in there.
Pretty simple.

When I try to copy it to the windows folder and replace the origional animation, it says that the file is write protected, if there is enough memory, and that the file might be in use. There is definately enough memory, and the file is not in use, so I dont know what to do. Please help.

Connect with Activesync > Explore the Device > Go to the windows folder > find the file > right click > details tab > uncheck ‘protected’

ok, I can’t find the windows folder on the computer, and I have the “hide system folders” check UNchecked. What should I do?

In the properties of the file and in the details tab there is no place to uncheck ‘protected’, and in the general tab if i try to uncheck the read-only box it jus goes back to being checked again when i open the properties back up….how do u get these screens working??

I dont know how to get the windows folder of the device show up when activesync with the computer but you can move the files around the phone with total commander or such. Phone needs to be app unlock.

Ok, so i cant find the phone’s Window/Directory folder on my computer.. So instead i put the shadow (black and properly named) in the subfolder just outside windows on phone. I tried to cut and paste it manually using the phone but i then ran into Antonio’s problem [March 11th @ 7:16].. I read ur response but the phone folder of windows/directory is not showing up on the computer!?!? Any help would be greatly appreciated
