There is some buzz lately about T-Mobile’s new MDA Compact IV that is supposedly being released in Europe. The details are scarce but promising and a quick look at the picture and anyone can see it looks incredibly like the Shadow. No official word on if it is coming to the US but we can only hope. Here are the specs I could find and I am sure more are to come so stay tuned.
Rumored Specs:
-
3 Megapixel Autofocus Camera - Even better pictures!
-
4GB Internal Memory - Ready for music and movies right out of the box
-
VGA Screen (640×480) - Imagine the beauty of your videos on this one!
-
GSM/GPRS/EDGE
-
Triband UMTS/HSDPA up to 7.2Mbps - That’s pretty damn fast, I would have to see this in person
-
Bluetooth 2.0 - Good to know
-
Wifi b/g - Always a plus
-
GPS is rumored - If this is the Shadow 2, then it BETTER have GPS. I see no reason why any Windows Mobile phone shouldn’t be rolled out without GPS nowadays

Very sleek and sexy phone right there. I especially like the more smooth front around the call buttons and of course the absence of the hard to reach soft keys.
Shadow 2 or not I like it. It never fails I get a phone I actually like and then they come out with one I like even more. Then to top it all off, it’s in Europe. I can’t even get if I tried.

This is really a tough call. They’re calling it a WM Professional device, which means that is has a touchscreen. Will T-Mobile want to change course and make the Shadow a touchscreened device?
And then, is there a sliding keyboard under that screen? If there was, they would have been showing it off at the press event where the picture was taken.
This is a tough call. It’s common for a carrier to release a phone oversees and then rebrand it for the US, but there’s just a lot about this unit that doesn’t make it feel like a Shadow. We’ll see.

Hope the camera has a flash this time..

I can guarantee you that’s not the “shadow 2″. those specs kick the crap out of any phone in the entire EU right now, that’s definitely not going to be a phone in Tmo usa’s lineup for the entry-level smartphone crowd…

that is beautiful when is this come out hope soon

I hope so. I saw another phone that was supposed to be a T-Mobile Shadow too, and it was ugly, and to business like for me. This is more my style. With the features I been waiting for. I still haven’t got the first T-Mobile Shadow; but, imma get this one too if its the T-Mobile Shadow 2

This looks awesome! Great features and everything! The only thing is they are calling it the T-Mobile MDA Compact IV, which makes me think it’s not a Shadow II. But you never know. If they put it in US lineup, it might be called Shadow II or something.
Anyways it’s made by HTC right?

engadget: 1. not coming to usa. 2. wireless is unknown if its b OR g. and yes it has gps for sure, engadget has pictures of it at a german telekom conference. the auto focus is pretty f’ing cool too. and another thing to mention it is not a slider.

I read some of the comments on the Engadget site and if you did not know, the Germany T-Mobile use MDA for everything, and this is just another addition to the Compact series, which have all been touch screen phones. Thus stating no matter how much this looks like a Shadow, it is not a Shadow II.

Very beautiful piece of equipement, and it has brains too? Too pretty to cover it yet wouldn’t want to put even the slightest scratch on her. Wow, I would have to buy two, one to use and the other just to admire.

Yeah, it sparkles. But since I just got my upgrade, will have to be content and enjoy my Shadow till my 2 year contract ends (2010). BTW… I have heard that there is a hack or mod to give the AT&T Tilt (HTC Kaiser) camera stablization (anti-shake). Now if that would work on the Shadow…hmmm.

man. the phone looks real clean. and real great features. lets just hope the phone doesn’t need to be recharged in an hour like the shadow haha.

Htc Diamond gotta love it…don’t know with something like this coming out can I stick with the shadow.

Yes that will most likely be the shadow (to everyone saying hell no). It’s from HTC (same developer as the shadow) and it does say T-mobile right there on the phoe, it has a VERY similar build, and if you do your research, this phone (The Touch Pro) and the Touch Diamond are rumored to be the any one of the next shadows (not in any particular order, but this will probably be the shadow III). Just for the 411, T-mobile is doing HELLA big things behind the curtains that we don’t know about, so to all of you complaining about T-mobile’s basic phones, they’re gonna shove some killer ass phones at you in the next 5 months… and they’re rumored to knock Sprint/Nextel right out of its boots. Get ReAdY!
