before my t-mobile shadow, i was a big sony ericsson fan. had the walkwamn w800i and the cybershot k800i. i only stopped using them because i changed my plan to my-favs.
plain old MotoFilp phone but i carried a Dell Axim pocket pc with me everywhere i went. i miss some of the functionality with the stand alone ppc, but am much happier without the extra weight or having to carry a
second device
my line of phones have gone from the nokia 3650 to the tmobile mda to the razor as well as the mda (same time) to the shadow. of course i have used motorola chirps (3) due to my change in locations. but the shadow is by far the best, i miss the touch screen of the mda but its worth it with the spin wheel!
this is my first personal phone payed for with my own money, i had the samsung t315, less than 2mb of FREE MEMORY. only swf and midi rings. but battery life was better than shadow. lol
I had the T-Mobile MDA. I loved the Pocket PC as a stand-alone device, but it didn’t work well as a phone. Digging the stylus out to perform phone functions was a pain. I love the Shadow as it is half the size and weight of the MDA. The only things I don’t like are the battery life and lack of cut/paste.
I’ve gone through some med to high end feature phones on verizon, a palm on sprint and a couple of blackberries on tmo my last phone was a pearl. the shadow is my first winmo device and its pretty good to me save for the awful battery life. miss some of the functionality of the blackberry though as well as awesome push email service
Starting backwards from my new current phone:
T-Mobile Shadow, Dash w/WM6, Mototola Rizr v, Nokia 5300, Samsung T629, & Audiovox SMT5600.
I still have the SMT5600, my first ever smartphone
I sold all the others when I got a new phone.
The Sidekick 3, I chose the Shadow over the LX because I wanted something with Windows Mobile. Sometimes I think I made the wrong choice when I use my wife’s LX. Then other times I believe it to be the best phone I’ve ever had.
I had purchased a used T-mobile MDA on Ebay and it started slowly breaking. I loved that phone but thought it was too bulky. The rep talked me into buying the shadow and I wanted it for Windows Mobile 6. I love this phone. Sometimes I wish it had more functions like the touchscreens but it still works great
The only other phone I had under contract was the Motorola V360. It was a nice phone and I modded it out quite a bit to make it my own.
I was way to comfortable with that after 2 years I had to get Something that would be a challenge to mod and make it stand out from the others!
My last phone was a plain jane Moto v330 but that was only because my Nokia 6600 was stolen, so I couldn’t afford another smartphone at the time because I had to pay nearly full price for the replacement. I really loved having a smartphone though, so when I was finally out of contract and T-Mo had a good price on the Shadow, I snapped it up!
I had a Sidekick LX before my shadow. The phone was OK but i would definitely reccomend this phone over the LX. It was too childish and lacks many features!
Actually I’m getting the Shadow today so I figured my vote should still count. And I have/had a Sidekick LX. AND I’m getting rid of it for the fact that whenever I use it, it makes me feel like I’m 12 or 13 again. Idk why, it just makes me feel childish. But I’m also not ready for a full on Business phone like a Blackberry, and this phone seems to be in between Childish Sidekick, and Old Man BB. I’m 17, sooo I guess it fits me perfectly.
first phone, with contract, was the samsung hg509 then i bought my sda from my friend when he up graded, then i accidently killed it and after a while i upgraded the the shadow.

I came from a Treo. Surprised that wasn’t an option in the poll seeing as how they were fairly popular smartphones.
