What’s it packing? What improvements does it flaunt in the face of Pocket Internet Explorer? Well for starters it boasts tabbed browsing, a More >

Opera just released the newest version of their mobile browser for download on Windows Mobile devices. Speed is the focus of this beta, it uses Opera Turbo to load pages faster. Also included is Opera Presto, which makes web pages display up to 25% faster. Opera Widgets enables you to access your favorite services, like More >

Without a doubt, Skyfire is in demand. Over a week ago I downloaded my beta copy and have enjoyed it ever since. It does break my heart a little that not everyone can enjoy it yet. However my hopes were lifted with this recent email concerning Skyfire and the beta program. Hopefully this will left More >

The more I use Skyfire the more I like it. I keep giving myself reasons to use it. Did you know it was Valentine’s Day? Yeah! So I used it to check movies on Yahoo’s Full Movie site instead of the mobile site. I also showed my brother his company’s website on the browser. And More >

I have been lucky enough to be included in the closed beta of the new Skyfire Browser. Before I opened the newly installed browser on my windows mobile standard smartphone, I honestly didn’t think it would be as cool as it turns out to be. Watch the video below to learn more:

The major players are on the stage now, with releases ’sometime soon’ for most, and the mobile community has only to wait to catch some browsing goodness.
SkyFire promises a mobile experience similar to the desktop, is light on the CPU as it renders on the server side. That is the downside though. Someone can easily More >

but mike wat if u both have d same phone like d shadow can he still send u d cab file
about 5 years ago
I got a beta .cab and installed it, but I can’t get past the ‘connecting’ screen. Although I can get on PIE on any website and have tried when connected via wifi and nothing. Anyone have a suggestion?
justin u mind sharing dat cab. file wit me???
help me – Well like mike said, it won’t work even if you had it.
“If you do happen to have a friend that emails you the .cab file. It won’t work. Skyfire requires your cell number and some other registration details so the server can appropriately handle the connection between the web and your phone.”

Justin have you tried ove wifi first? Did you reset the phone as well (off then on)?
sadly I have reset the phone numerous times, re-installed skyfire a few times, tried the browser over EDGE, Wifi and connected via usb. I’m thinking maybe a faulty .cab file? Or some sick joke from Skyfire?

*UPDATE* I did connect to my home wifi again and it somehow connected. Though it REALLY struggled to load up youtube and play a video. Plus it disconnected alot (though I was sitting next to my router) which closes the app. Thus far I’m not impressed…but hopefully it’ll become more stable and usable.
Am I alone on these bad experiences or is this common?

I have only experienced the lag on youtube when on an EDGE connection. Did you happen to have any apps on your home computer running that might need a lot of bandwidth?

I registered on Jan 28th, but have to yet receive an invite. I would really like to try skyfire, mostly because I don’t have to use 10 different programs to watch a fricken youtube video.

Mike – I did have my normal apps open, but the only firefox was using the internet and I wasn’t doing anything on it…It’s weird as the shadow is my 5th WM smartphone and I can’t get my head around why this won’t function properly. Maybe it’s just me. Oh well, I hope it’s better in the final version

skyfire is allowing users to use the browser on a temp basis by entering the beta code “Michael8″. I hope some of you read this becuase I have been using the browser for some time now and although its not perfect (beta) its the best browser I have ever used on a mobile device.

this information is obsolete.
.
To get Skyfire go to http://get.skyfire.com with your mobile phone (preferred) or your PC.
That’s it

Skyfire developers are pissing off lots of potential customers by not giving everyone a fair chance to checkout the browser. I have been registered for many years now and they told me I cant use cuz i dont live in the States. (What?!)
Screw skyfire, go with Opera Mini, soon it will come with Flash support too.
Thanks
