I have been lucky enough to be included in the closed beta of the new Skyfire Browser. Before I opened the newly installed browser on my windows mobile standard smartphone, I honestly didn’t think it would be as cool as it turns out to be. Watch the video below to learn more:
EDIT note: This video is also available on YouTube

Can’t wait till its my turn

Right now it has a few bugs but then that is what Beta testing is for. Ask all the questions you want so we don’t miss anything and I can test everything out. It’s important to the AllShadow.com Community that this works once it goes final right?
Ask away!

Thanks for the video. Does this work with $5.99 T-Mobile Plan?
February 13th, 2008 at 12:29 am
AjayKX yes it does. From the latter half of the video you can see that the video is not perfect over the EDGE connection. So if you must view video over edge you can always use the online video hack we talk about on this site (use search for ‘how to watch online video’)

While some sites are so complicated that you have to see it in its native form to navigate it, I would be most interested in options to allow you to view the page with minimal horizontal scrolling. Especially with no touch screen, it seems like a big chore to drive the cursor / magnifier around the page to read text.
Can the volume buttons be used for zoom?

badbob001,
I have put that in my list of suggestions. As of right now there is no ‘customise buttons’ option. But it would be very helpful. If not volume at least the other two side buttons would be adequate.

There should be a landscape option…that would make the pages show better.

Greg, I kind of like the idea of having that option. I’ll put it in my list’o’suggestions

Awesome, so there really is no need for the $20 data plan with skyfire, as far as web browsing is concerned?! Hey Mike, were you able to save video files to your shawdow and on avg does the overall browsing speed seem even faster then operamini, sure seemed like it from the demo? I only use web browsing on my phone with wi-fi, but after this comes out I will deffinitly get the 5.99 plan! Thanks for the video update, better demo the the developers at demo 08, very impressive!
