If you have ever found the Start Menu’s Grid View to be a bit tedious and are looking for a change there is another option. Thanks to boozie in the forums here is a way to change from Grid View to List View. This is for advanced users or anyone willing to hard reset their Shadow (Meaning you will lost everything, editing the registry can have undesired consequences). You will need a registry editor like PHM Registry Editor or Total Commander, which are both free.
Basically, to make the change, open up your registry editor and navigate to \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell\StartMenu and change the GridView value to 0. You might need to navigate to it by going to HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Shell > StartMenu > GridView. If you decide you don’t like List View you can always change it back by changing the setting from 0 to 1. If you don’t see results immediately, turn your Shadow off and back on. Below is a pictoral walkthrough using PHM Registry Editor and Total Commander.

I’ll post my updated Panoramic Hack program, I added this feature a while back but have yet to release it. Personally I’ve had issues where it will display in grid view randomly even when the registry key is set.
