If you’re like me and read a lot of internet news everyday, it can get cumbersome to keep up with it all. Thanks to RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, it’s easy to check multiple news sources quickly to find the stories that I care about. Have you subscribed to our RSS feed yet? I know many of you have.
You can also get RSS right on your phone. My favorite news reader for the Shadow is NewsBreak by Ilium Software. Not only can you read any RSS feed, but you can also listen to and download podcasts. Another cool feature is that it will alert you when a certain word is found (such as “Shadow” or “Windows Mobile”). The program will work over your EDGE or WiFi connection.
A trial is available for download, and the program costs as reasonable $19.95 should you decide you like it enough to buy.

Hey Mike
I didn’t know where to ask this so I posted here.
Is there a mobile music store like iTunes that I can have on my shadow so that when I want to get a song I can get it? Or maybe a free download able software.

I use Viigo http://virtualreach.com/download.htm which is free and works well for me. I haven’t tried using it for podcasts though. Did I mention its free?

It’s like the internet without connecting to the internet. You get feeds from your favorite websites when they are updated. I’m looking into music and videos on it right now. I’ll tell you if you can do that in a little bit.

Music videos are out of the question and so are movies darn it. You have to have Flash player for both which you can’t get on this device (or any mobile device for that matter).

Viigo doesn’t support any downloads. At all. Sorry.
If anybody finds any freeware or website that allows you to download music, movies, music videos, or TV Shows straight to your Shadow, let me know!

Tried out NewsBreak and am very pleased with its layout. However, it does not support the ability to stream downloads which is a major show stopper if you are dealing with vidcasts. For that I recommend HubDog, though its still in beta and the interface is rather clunky. The interesting thing about it is any manually added feeds get added to a searchable catalog, which means finding content is easy! Its also free.
